Flat mica band heater type R4

The flat mica band heaters are intended to heat by conduction tools with flat surfaces. They are used to heat press moulds and tanks
Maximum operating temperature of flat mica band heater: 350°C, maximum load: 4.2 W/cm²

Technical specifications:

  • Resistive alloy wire wound on a mica paper backing
  • Mica paper insulation
  • Shielding in treated steel sheath (electro galvanizing) or stainless steel AISI 430
  • Minimum width: 20 mm, maximum width: 800 mm
  • Min length: 20 mm, max length: 2000 mm
  • Thickness: 4 mm
  • Voltage: 24 to 440V Single Phase or Three Phase

Possible variations:

  • Fixing holes, holes for probe passage, piping connection …
  • Shielding in brass or copper
  • Thermostat under hood
  • Integrated thermocouple
  • Waterproof heater with brazed shielding
  • Clamping plate made of steel (usually 4 to 8 mm thickness)

The flat mica band heaters are fitted in grooves 0.3 mm deeper than the heater height and with a gap of 2 mm on the outside of the heater. They are clamped against the part to be heated with a clamping plate in steel. It is recommended to have a good contact surface between the heater and the part to be heated to achieve a good heat transfer and long life.
You must use a temperature control device like a thermostat to regulate your process.
